Iris TB ‘Old Black Magic’
Iris 'Old Black Magic' is a stunning purple-black reblooming iris with sweet fragrance.
‘Old Black Magic’ is a stunning purple-black iris. In some light conditions you’ll see deepest purple standards and purple-black falls. In other light conditions the entire flower will look jet black accented with the deep yellow beards. Blooms on 36 inch stems in the early to mid season and can rebloom in late summer. Sweet fragrance. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
