Iris TB ‘Island Hop’
Iris 'Island Hop' makes for a bold display with large, golden yellow standards and violet plum falls accented with blue.
‘Island Hop’ makes for a bold, almost tropical display with large, lemon yellow to golden yellow standards contrasting with violet plum falls accented with blue and yellow around the orange beards. Blooms very well with branched 36 inch stems with up to eight buds each in the mid season. Non-fragrant. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
