Iris TB ‘Black Lipstick’

‘Black Lipstick’ has wonderful deepest purple standards and coal black falls with blue beards all with a lovely broad ruffling. The hybridizer, Keith Keppel, described it as “glossy and dark enough to satisfy the most demanding Goth maiden.” Embrace your inner Goth and go for this stunning cultivar. Blooms in from early to mid season. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
