Iris TB ‘Before the Storm’

Iris 'Before the Storm' is a lightly fragrant, bearded iris with dark purple-black blooms

‘Before the Storm’ is one of the darkest purple-black irises available today bred from a cross between ‘Superstition’ and ‘Raven’s Roost’. Excellent growth habit and light fragrance. Winner of the Dykes Medal in 1996. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
