Iris TB ‘Alcazar’

Iris ‘Alcazar’ smells like root beer with two-toned flowers with lavender standards, purple falls, and yellow beards.

‘Alcazar’ is an early to mid-season bloomer that brings drama to the garden with lavender standards and rich royal purple falls highlighted with a golden beard and white veining and a root beer fragrance. A tall, clump forming bearded iris 36 inches tall with green, sword-shaped leaves. Excellent for vertical effect in the landscape. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
