Iris IB ‘Jump Start’

Iris 'Jump Start' offers bold tones with ruffled wine purple standards and velvety burgundy-black falls and orange beards.

‘Jump Start’ offers bold tones with ruffled wine purple standards and velvety burgundy-black falls accented with deep orange beards. Blooms in midseason on stems to 23 inches tall. Non-fragrant. The intermediate bearded iris (IB) are hybrids that look just like the classic tall bearded iris just at two thirds the height. Use them at the front or mid border, along pathways, and in rockeries in full sun in average to dry situations. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
