‘August Treat’ offers elegant shades of pale blue and pale lavender both lightening into cream with accents of yellow with blue beards. Blooms in the mid season on 20 inch stems and reblooms later in the season. Non-fragrant. The intermediate bearded iris (IB) are hybrids that look just like the classic tall bearded iris just at two thirds the height. Use them at the front or mid border, along pathways, and in rockeries in full sun in average to dry situations. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
