It has glossy, clasping, lance-shaped leaves and beautiful blue and white flowers with yellow markings. Each stem produces multiple flowers. Though the foliage is among the earliest to emerge, this species is the latest to bloom with a fragrance like violets. One of the easiest and hardiest Juno irises to grow in a sunny, well-drained border. Good drainage is important.
