Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Ruby Blossom’

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Ruby Blossom' is a bigleaf hydrangea with fully double florets on large, mophead of pink, purple or blue.

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Ruby Blossom’ is a unique, heavy blooming bigleaf mophead hydrangea. Fully double, sterile florets on dense mopheads up to 8 inches across on sturdy stems, are the result of a breakthrough in breeding. Blooms begin in late spring to early summer and continue into fall. Dark pink in alkaline soils, purple in neutral soils to deep blue in acidic soils. Blooms on new wood. Enjoys morning sun and afternoon shade. A compact habit 3 feet high by 4 feet wide makes it the perfect specimen for the small garden, in the mixed shrub border, as an accent feature and in the container.
