Hosta plantaginea ‘Aphrodite’

A fragrant hosta with pure white, double flowers.

There’s not much fancy variegation going on with species plantaginea. Instead you get light green, glossy, beautifully ribbed leaves and spectacular, large, extremely fragrant white flowers in summer. This one plant alone could bathe your entire shade garden in fragrance. ‘Aphrodite’ has large, impressive double flowers. The foliage of plantagineas is thinner than many other hostas. Plant in shade away from heat and drying winds.
