Hippeastrum vittatum

Hippeastrum vittatum has large white flowers with variable maroon-red stripes.

Hippeastrum vittatum has large white flowers with variable maroon-red stripes that bloom in spring. It is a robust grower that will bulk up into nice clumps at a good rate. Bulbs are naturally small. We sell them at blooming size. Grow in a sunny location (usually in a pot) outside in summer. Fertilize well. Allow autumn frosts to hit the foliage then bring inside, chop off the leaves and allow to dry out in the dark. Give light and water when a bud or new foliage appears. Great in pots and as cut flowers or outdoors in protected locations in coastal BC.
