Hippeastrum Sonatini 'Red Rascal' is a zone 7 hardy amaryllis with scarlet red flowers and dark red throats.
The Hippeastrum Sonatini Series is a group of compact amaryllis for the garden hardy to zone 7 that come in a range of colours. The flowers are a little smaller than the indoor cultivars but they produce multiple flowering stems per bulb and bulk up into nice clumps. ‘Red Rascal’ has scarlet red flowers with dark red throats. Mulch in winter with fallen leaves. Where not hardy bring indoors as a houseplant or store bulbs in a dry dark place until spring.
