Hippeastrum Sonatini ‘Balentino’

Hippeastrum Sonatini 'Balentino' is a zone 7 hardy amaryllis with scarlet red flowers with a white stripe on each petal.

The Hippeastrum Sonatini Series is a group of compact amaryllis for the garden hardy to zone 7 that come in a range of colours. The flowers are a little smaller than the indoor cultivars but they produce multiple flowering stems per bulb and bulk up into nice clumps. ‘Balentino’ has scarlet red flowers with a white stripe on each petal. Mulch in winter with fallen leaves. Where not hardy bring indoors as a houseplant or store bulbs in a dry dark place until spring.
