Hippeastrum roseum
Hippeastrum roseum has beautiful star-shaped flowers of light pinkish-orange. Rare and unique.

Hippeastrum roseum is a rare and beautiful amaryllis species with star-shaped flowers of light pinkish-orange. Flowers can number four per stem and be up to 3 inches wide on 15 inch tall stems. Bulbs are naturally small. We sell them at blooming size. Grow in a sunny location (usually in a pot) outside in summer. Fertilize well. Allow autumn frosts to hit the foliage then bring inside, chop off the leaves and allow to dry out in the dark. Give light and water when a bud or new foliage appears. Great in pots and as cut flowers or outdoors in protected locations in coastal BC. Also known as Rhodophiala rosea.
