Helleborus x hybridus WJ Golden Sunrise

Helleborus Winter Jewels Golden Sunrise offer buttery to deep yellow flowers, often with red markings.

Yellow has been one of the most challenging colours to breed into hellebores. One of the world’s top hybridizers, Marietta O’Byrne has created this wonderful group of single yellows called Golden Sunrise. These buttery to rich yellows often have red spotting, red picotee edges or a red central star and the occasional apricot flush! As with all strains the exact colour and flower shape will vary. Every plant is unique. Another feature of gold strains of hellebores is that their fall and winter foliage can turn bright gold. Deer resistant. Tolerant of shade but best in part shade to part sun. Perennial Plant of the Year 2005.
