Hamamelis 'Arnold Promise' has gorgeous butter yellow, fragrant flowers that positively glow in winter light.

Witch hazels (Hamamelis) are beautiful and useful shrubs for gardens large and small. They have a vase-shaped architecture clad in large, textured, hazel-like leaves that turn gorgeous colours of yellow, orange, red and purple in fall. In late December or early January they come into bloom on the West Coast flowering along the naked branches with narrow petals like ruffled ribbons. In colder climates they will bloom in late winter/early spring. ‘Arnold Promise’ has gorgeous butter yellow, fragrant flowers with red bases. The flowers positively glow when the winter light shines through them.
