Gladiolus nanus is a smaller, hardy gladiola native to Africa. ‘Nymph’ has orchid-like, white flowers with pretty, hot pink markings on the lower petals. They have the benefit of a long bloom period, taking little space to grow such that they combine well with other plants, and make excellent cut flowers. Bulbs require good drainage. Leave the foliage to nourish the bulb after cutting back the flower stalk and mulch in winter.
