Gentiana ‘True Blue’ is a tall gentian producing true, royal blue, two inch long tubular flowers up and down the two foot stems from midsummer to fall. The foliage is smooth, mid-green and lance-shaped. Grow in soils with good drainage at the front of the border or in rock gardens. Gentian bloom best in full sun but appreciate a little protection from the hot afternoon rays. Thrives in humus rich soil that is consistently moist and well-draining. Mass plant in the front of the sunny border, in the rock or pollinator gardens, and in containers. Pollinator attractor. Deer resistant
