Gentiana makinoi ‘Blue Star’, commonly known as gentian, is a mid to late summer bloomer with stunning royal blue flowers that are upright and tubular with speckled throats and yellow stamens complimented with glossy green foliage. Plants are compact and clumping to 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Gentian bloom best in full sun but appreciate a little protection from the hot afternoon rays.
