Gaultheria procumbens ‘Cherry Berries’

Gaultheria procumbens 'Cherry Berries' is a great year round ground cover with exceptionally large berries.

Gaultheria procumbens ‘Cherry Berries’ features glossy evergreen foliage that turns purple in the cool of winter. Plentiful, showy, exceptionally large, bright red berries appear in fall and persist through winter to spring. Excellent in mixed containers, especially for the holidays, but great as a year round ground cover. The berries are edible. They are mildly sweet with the taste of wintergreen, similar to peppermint. A Canadian native from southern Manitoba to Labrador and Nova Scotia.
