Ficus carica ‘Black Mission’
Ficus carica 'Black Mission' is a black fig tree with luscious strawberry-coloured flesh and purplish-black exteriors.

Ficus carica ‘Black Mission’ is a black fig also known as the Franciscan fig tree introduced to California in the 1700’s. This cultivar produces large fruit with a purplish-black skin and lucious, strawberry-coloured flesh. A self-pollinator and the most productive variety for both breba (early) and heavy main (late) crop. Mature size of tree is 12 to 20 feet tall with a 12 to 18 foot spread though pruning can control size and height. Provide the hottest, sunniest spot you have. One of the best for fresh eating, preserves, and drying.
