Eranthis hyemalis (Cilicica Group)

Eranthis hyemalis Cilicica Group blooms slightly later with larger flowers and more deeply dissected foliage often flushed burgundy.

Eranthis hyemalis is the cheerful winter aconite blooming in late winter with bright yellow, upward-facing flowers atop a whorl of mid green leaves. It usually blooms after snowdrops but before Crocus. Plant en masse beneath deciduous trees and shrubs where it will get full sun before going dormant as the woody plants leaf out. Cilicica Group bulbs bloom slightly later with larger flowers and more deeply dissected foliage that can be flushed with burgundy.
