Epimedium x perralchicum ‘Frohnleiten’
Epimedium x perralchicum 'Frohnleiten' is a chance hybrid with large bright yellow flowers with short brown spurs.

Epimedium x perralchicum ‘Frohnleiten’ is a chance hybrid occurred in Wisley Garden where E. pinnatum ssp. colchicum (from Turkey) was growing alongside E. perralderianum (from Algeria). Their love child was the cross that lead to this cultivar with large (for a barrenwort), bright yellow flowers with short brown spurs. Epimediums are among the easiest perennials to grow. They thrive in medium to heavy shade, and when established, are highly drought tolerant. They are deer resistant and are seldom bothered by other critters.
