Epimedium ‘Songbirds’

Epimedium 'Songbirds' is a barrenwort with small yellow and pink flowers and evergreen foliage that is lightly red-spotted.

Epimedium ‘Songbirds’ is a whimsical treat for the shade garden. The evergreen foliage is deep green, lance-shaped and lightly spotted in rusty reds. Spider-like flowers that look like Japanese origami emerge in spring on long, showy sprays. Barrenwort thrive in medium to heavy shade and, when established, are highly drought tolerant. They are deer resistant and are seldom bothered by voles or other critters. They can be used as effective ground covers or shade garden accents.
