Epigaea repens is a slow-growing, creeping, evergreen ground cover from eastern North America with clusters of white to pale pink, sweetly fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers in spring. The thick, broad, oval, leathery leaves are aromatic as well. It is not easy to grow and is difficult to establish at first. Likely best in acidic, woodland soil with excellent drainage and part sun to part shade or grow in a pot with a mix of peat and pumice. It is the floral emblem of Nova Scotia and Massachusetts.
