Eomecon chionantha or snow poppy is a rhizomatous perennial that bears small pure white poppy-like flowers.
Eomecon chionantha is the only species in its genus and hails from the poppy family. Snow poppy is from the woodlands of Eastern China. It is a spreading, rhizomatous perennial that bears small pure white poppy-like flowers from late spring to summer. It has dull green, almost circular leaves that are toothed at the margins. Can be used as a ground cover on shady banks. Part shade is best in moist but well-drained soil. Can be grown in sun if adequate moisture is available.
