Echium amoenum

Echium amoenum has short, red, feathery exclamation marks for the hot border that will excite hummingbirds from miles around.

Echium amoenum, often called red feathers, forms low-growing mounds of narrow dark green leathery foliage from which arise feathery flowering spikes covered in a multitude of russet-red florets. This long-blooming species will repeat bloom in summer and fall if properly deadheaded. Drought tolerant. Very popular with hummingbirds.
