Echinacea Sombrero ‘Summer Solstice’ is a hybrid coneflower that has sunny lemon-yellow petals with a white basal halo around the cenral orange cone whichs the yellow pop! Dark green foliage serves as an excellent foil. The Sombrero Series offers well-branched, dwarf plants which produce lots of flowers all summer long with a mounding habit of 18-20 inches tall and wide. Echinacea in coastal BC should be planted in hot, dry, sunny spots with thin, average to poor soils for best overwintering. Drought tolerant once established. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Deer resistant.
