Dryopteris x remota, commonly called the remote wood fern or the scaly buckler fern, is a fertile hybrid of D. affinis and D. expansa with finely textured, light green, evergreen fronds with golden scales that rise to 2-3 feet tall. One of the earliest ferns to emerge in spring and exceptionally drought tolerant. Handsome and easy to grow. Deer resistant.
