Diospyros kaki ‘Early Fuyu’ is an early-ripening variety producing reliably in BC and other cool summer climates. It bears good crops of sweet, flavourful, orange fruit followed by strikingly beautiful, orange-yellow fall foliage. The fruit can be eaten when firm like an apple or soft and tender like a ripe tomato. ‘Early Fuyu’ is very similar to ‘Sweet Fuyu’ but ripens earlier. It is known as ‘Matsumoto Wase Fuyu’ in Japan. Persimmons are one of the most popular fruits in Asia and treasured for fresh eating or desserts. Self-fertile.
