Dierama pulcherrimum ‘Dark Cerise’

Dierama pulcherrimum 'Dark Cerise' is a stunning angel's fishing rod with pendulous purplish bells.

Dierama pulcherrimum ‘Dark Cerise’ is a stunning, long-lived evergreen perennial with thin, arching, 30 to 42 inch long stems that produce showers of perfectly formed bells in a rich red-purple colour all summer long. The foliage is narrow and grass- or iris-like forming a bushy, clump 24-36 inches wide. Angel’s fishing rods are beautiful at the edge, corner or possibly at a turning point in a path so you can stop and stare! They provide movement in the breeze like a grass and are a great see-through perennial that can be planted further forward in the border than you usually would a plant of its height. Likes a sunny spot with good drainage and extra summer moisture. Somewhat slow to bulk up but your patience will be rewarded. Attracts bees.
