Daphne tangutica

 

This very hardy daphne comes from northwestern China, Tibet, Bhutan and northern Burma. Its flowers are rose purple, sweetly scented, and bloom in mid- to late spring. It will from a mounded shrub of lush evergreen leaves three feet tall and wide. Rich, well-drained soil in part to full sun. Do not move after planting.
