Dahlia ‘Verrone’s Obsidian’ is a distinctive mignon type cultivar with 3-4 inch wide flowers with unique, almost black, chocolate-burgundy, semi-tubular, star-shaped petals with hints of ruby-red radiating from the base around bright yellow centres. Dahlia are hardy to coastal BC’s winter temperatures but not to winter wet. Protect from rain in free-draining soils, plant in pots that can be moved and protected, or lift and store in a cool, dry, frost free location. Pollinator friendly. Deer resistant.
