Dahlia ‘Mr Sandman’ is more likely to wake you up than put you to sleep. It has stunning 10 inch wide dinner plate type, fully double blooms in tones of yellow, peach, and orange with hints of red on the twisted petals. Flowers are supported on strong stems to 36 inches tall. Blooms from summer to frost. Awesome in the border and in the vase. Dahlia are hardy to coastal BC’s winter temperatures but not to winter wet. Protect from rain in free-draining soils, plant in pots that can be moved and protected, or lift and store in a cool, dry, frost free location. They are moderately deer resistant.
