Dahlia Cactus ‘Black Cat’/’Chat Noir’

Dahlia 'Black Cat'/'Chat Noir' is a dramatic cactus-flowered cultivar with deep red velvety flowers.

Dahlia ‘Black Cat’, also known as ‘Chat Noir’, is an amazing rich, deep, burgundy-red, cactus type cultivar with curving, elongated, velvety petals in flowers up to 8 inches wide on upright 48 inch tall stems. A continuous and prolific bloomer from July to frost. Fantastic in the border and as a cut flower. Dahlia are hardy to coastal BC’s winter temperatures but not to winter wet. Protect from rain in free-draining soils, plant in pots that can be moved and protected, or lift and store in a cool, dry, frost free location. Pollinator attractor. Moderately deer resistant.
