Cyrtomium falcatum
Crytomium falcatum is a distinctive, glossy, evergreen, fern with lush, holly-like pinnae.

Cyrtomium falcatum is an elegant and distinctive holly fern with light to mid green, shiny, holly-like foliage. It will lighten a dark shaded area and provide a bold foliage statement amongst finer foliage. It can take deep shade and seasonally dry conditions including dry shade (once established) and loves hot summer regions, though it also does well in coastal BC. Though it is evergreen you may want to remove the foliage in early spring. Provide some protection in zone 6. This holly fern was also a popular and easy houseplant in Victorian England where it easily withstood low light and low humidity and drafty spaces likely thanks to its thick, waxy leaves. Try it for yourself!
