Cypripedium x columbianum (Frosch)

Cypripedium x columbianum has twisted burgundy brown petals with pure white to pale yellow slippers.

Our Cypripedium x columbianum are garden crosses of a naturally occurring hybrid from the wilds of western North America where the ranges of the bright yellow C. parviflorum var. pubescens and the pure white C. montanum overlap. This hybrid is thus a BC native! C. x columbianum will have the twisted burgundy brown to burgundy and yellow petals of its two parents with slippers than can be pure white, creamy white or pale yellow. Good drainage is especially important. Seed-grown. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Blooming size. More info on our Frosch Cypripedium: www.cypripedium.de.
