Cypripedium ‘Ventricosum’ (Frosch)

Cypripedium 'Ventricosum' is a luscious hybrid with large, glowing magenta flowers.

‘Ventricosum’ is the artificial remake of a naturally occuring hybrid between the European lady’s slipper C. calceolus and the Siberian C. macranthos where their ranges overlap in the wild. It is incredibly stable and robust in its growth with magnificent deep pink and fuchsia colouration. Grows to 35-45 cm (14-18 in) high with broad leaves and strong stems topped with 1-2 medium-sized flowers. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Lady’s slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year! Blooming size.
