Cypripedium planipetalum x kentuckiense
Cypripedium planipetalum x C. kentuckiense resembles the Kentucky lady's slipper but with bold colours of yellow and burgundy.

This excellent Cypripedium hybrid combines the bold yellow, rounded slippers and burgundy tepals of C. planipetalum with the pale yellow slippers and twisted, drooping burgundy striped tepals of C. kentuckiense. The result resembles C. kentuckiense in flower form, in the large flowers, and in the stems up to almost two feet tall but with bold colours of yellow and rich burgundy. A stunning hybrid for those who already loved the Kentucky lady’s slipper. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Lady’s slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year! Blooming size with multiple eyes.
