Cryptanthus are epiphytic bromeliads endemic to Brazil often called earth stars. They have strappy, rippled foliage with beautiful patterns. They make a great addition to houseplant or succulent collections. ‘Zebrinus’ has rich brown-black leaves overlain with waves and zigzags of white. Grow in moist, well-drained, sphagnum soils. Water regularly and provide high humidity in bright but indirect light.
