Crocus chrysanthus ‘Fuscotinctus’ is a beautiful cultivar with deep golden yellow flowers striped with burgundy red. The flowers are smaller than the large Dutch hybrids and bloom earlier. Species, or snow crocus, are some of the first bulbs to emerge in the late winter, two weeks before other forms. They will grow anywhere grass does, but don’t mow them until the foliage dies back.
