Crocosmia ‘Star of the East’ is an award-winning, classic and one of the best bred Montbretias. Emerging in mid to late summer on tall flower wands are deep orange flower buds opening up to large, 4 inch wide soft orange blossoms revealing creamy yellow throats with burgundy freckles. Green foliage provides vertical appeal with its narrow, strappy foliage. Growth habit is 40 to 48 inches tall. Highly floriferous, low maintenance and hardy. Requires well-drained soil. Great in borders, containers, mass planting, and for cut flowers. Popular with hummingbirds and and other pollinators. Deer and rabbit resistant.
