Colocasia esculenta ‘Diamond Head’ is a taro or elephant’s ear with huge, dramatic, heart-shaped, dark brown, ruffled leaves on long, dark purple stems rising up to four feet tall. The blooms consist of a spathe and spadix that are yellow-green and produced infrequently. Grow as a marginal plant in ponds or in pots or beds for its foliage with evenly moist soil. Though potentially hardy they are best brought in as a houseplant. Hardy to zone 7b.
