Clematis ‘Super Nova’

Clematis 'Super Nova' is a cold-hardy climber with large, single white flowers, dark purple margins and veining.

Clematis ‘Super Nova’ is a cold-hardy, free-flowering, compact climber that we have imported from Europe that produces multitudes of outward-facing, very showy flowers. Petal margins are dark violet, ruffled and slightly recurved with violet veining running toward its white bars. Stamens are dark purple. Flowers are large, 3-4 inches wide and bloom on vines 7-9 feet tall. Deadheading is not necessary but a trim after first flush will encourage new growth. Adorns walls, trellis or obelisk in the garden and patio. Belongs to the Viticella group of clematis. Pruning group C3. Hummingbird and pollinator attractor.
