Clematis 'Proteus' is a historic cultivar with double and single blooms in shades of rosy-lilac.

Clematis ‘Proteus’ is more than 100 years old and still a dramatic and unique cultivar. It produces very full double blooms on old wood in May and early June in shades of rosy-lilac followed by single flowers throughout the summer. The flowers are 6-8 inches wide on vines that will reach 6-9 feet tall. Tolerant of part shade. Pruning group B1.
