Clematis ‘Kiri te Kanawa’
Clematis 'Kiri Te Kanawa' has early 6-9" (12-15cm) flowers that are deep blue with cream stamens and slightly smaller and paler later.
Clematis ‘Kiri Te Kanawa’ was raised by the well known English breeder Barry Fretwell. He named this clematis in honour of the Maori soprano singer, Kiri Te Kanawa. This new variety differs from most double Clematis in that it blooms double on current seasons growth as well as on the old wood. The early 6-9″ (12-15cm) flowers are deep blue with cream stamens and slightly smaller and paler as the season progresses. Pruning group B2.
