Citrus-Pummelo maxima ‘Tahitian’

Citrus maxima 'Tahitian' has greenish amber flesh with a melting, juicy flavour said to be melon-like.

Citrus maxima is known as a pummelo or pomelo. It produces the largest of the citrus fruits and is the main ancestor of the grapefruit. ‘Tahitian’ has small to medium-sized fruit with greenish to greenish-yellow rinds that are less thick than other varieties. The flesh is greenish amber with a melting, juicy flavour said to be melon-like. The fruit stores well on the tree. Also known as Sarawak pummelo. All of our citrus are grafted onto C-35 citrange, trifoliate orange, or other semi-dwarfing rootstock which confer good hardiness and production while reducing overall tree size.
