Citrus-Mandarin unshiu ‘China Satsuma S-2’
Citrus unshiu ‘China Satsuma S-2’ is a unique satsuma mandarin that may prove hardy in coastal BC.
Citrus unshiu ‘China Satsuma S-2’ is a satsuma mandarin that forms lush, tropical-looking, evergreen shrubs to 5-8 ft tall, bloom with white, incredibly fragrant flowers, and produce excellent crops of sweet, juicy, seedless, bright orange fruits. It has good cold hardiness and might be a candidate for outdoor cultivation in coastal BC. Provide overhead protection for the leaves and fruit in winter. All of our citrus are grafted onto C-35 citrange, trifoliate orange, or other semi-dwarfing rootstock which confer good hardiness and production while reducing overall tree size.
