Citrus reticulata (syn. Citrus unshiu) ‘Miho Wase’ is a hardy mandarin that can withstand temperatures to about -7 degrees Celsius, perhaps colder once established and full size. While not quite as hardy as the ‘Owari’ mandarin, ‘Miho Wase’ represents an additional option for outdoor growing in a protected location or for a plant that needs much less winter protection than other citrus. The tasty, sweet, orange fruit have thin, easy-to-peel skins and are one of the earliest to ripen. All of our citrus are grafted onto C-35 citrange, trifoliate orange, or other semi-dwarfing rootstock which confer good hardiness and production while reducing overall tree size.
