Chrysogonum virginiana var. australe is a tough eastern North American native plant commonly known as goldenstar. This low-growing evergreen perennial is a favoured ground cover for the woodland garden growing 2-6 inches high and spreading to 12 or more inches wide. Yellow, daisy-like flowers bloom just above the lush shiny green foliage all summer long. Great for brightening the shade garden and rambling along the edges of garden paths and borders via its above ground stolons. Great at suppressing weeds and attracting pollinators. Deer resistant.
